  2. I was on the Notable Children’s Video committee with Kathy. I am profoundly sad and shocked after finding out Kathy was gone. A fellow committee member notifed us this morning. She was the chair of my committee and was the loveliest person I have known in a long time. She had an infectious smile, great sense of style, and was just someone I greatly admired. I am honored to have known her for such a short amount of time. My last memory of her is when she grabbed my hand as she walked by before going into the Monday morning awards announcements. My sympathies to her family, friends, your community and anyone who was graced with Kathy’s life and smile.

  3. Kate had such sparkle. Her love of good kids books was inspiring. Her pleasure in discovering a good book was contagious. She was an unbelievable mentor and did so many things for people in this field that we will never know about. A truly great and generous spirit we will all miss.
