Useful Tips for Container Gardening

Perrot Memorial Library, in partnership with the Garden Club of Old Greenwich presents “Useful Tips for Container Gardening,” a Zoom presentation, with Dr. Yonghao Li, plant pathologist, Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station, on Monday, April 22 at 7 pm.

Container gardening on a patio, deck or balcony allows you to grow plants in a limited space to enjoy fresh vegetables and fruits. Planting in containers also provides seasonal interests and color to your surroundings by using special plants, containers, and designs. This talk will discuss plants, containers, soil mixtures, irrigation, fertilization, and design in container gardening.

Dr. Yonghao Li is a plant pathologist running the Plant Disease Information Office at the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station in New Haven. He has more than 30 years of experience in gardening, disease diagnostics, and pest management.
