Former Connecticut Congressman and gubernatorial candidate Robert Steele will present his historical novel, The Curse: Big Time Gambling’s Seduction of a Small New England Town. The story centers around Connecticut casino complexes, an ancient curse delivered by a Pequot sachem, venal politicians, and Providence mobsters. Ultimately, a small New England town must choose between preserving its character or accepting an extraordinary proposal which will change it forever.

Noted food historian and cookbook author Francine Segan returns to Perrot to offer up a tantalizing talk exploring pasta’s long, rich history and its fascinating future. This fun 101 on pasta in Italy today includes a discussion on how companies such as Garofalo make their award-winning pasta. The evening will also feature tastings of several pasta dishes, perfect cooking tips, and a trivia contest about modern and antique pasta making equipment. Come hungry!
