The Secret Life of Containers: Design, Texture, and a Touch of Chaos

Perrot Memorial Library is pleased to welcome Char Barnes of Earthly Delights for “The Secret Life of Containers: Design, Texture, and a Touch of Chaos,” on Wednesday, May 14, at 7 pm in our Program Room, Radcliffe Building, Perrot Memorial Library.

Think your container gardens could use more personality? Join Char Barnes, landscape designer and lifelong plant enthusiast, for a lively workshop where we’ll transform ordinary pots into extraordinary displays. You’ll discover:

  • The power of proportion (why some containers just “look right”)
  • Texture’s starring role (It’s not all about flowers.)
  • Unexpected plant choices (perennials that shine in pots, houseplants that thrive outdoors)
  • How to artfully break the “thriller, spiller, filler” rules

You’ll leave with design principles you can use immediately, a curated plant list (featuring surprising performers), and a new confidence to create containers with character.

Perfect for: Gardeners ready to take their pots from “nice” to “wow!”
Bring: Your curiosity (and maybe a notebook).

Registration is required. Click here to register.
