In honor of September Is Suicide Prevention Month, we are pleased to welcome Anne Romano for “Talk Saves Lives: A Presentation on Suicide Prevention,” on Wednesday, September 27, at 7 pm in the Youth Services Program Room.
Anne Romano serves on the board for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Connecticut Chapter. She has co-chaired the AFSP Fairfield County Out of the Darkness Walk held in Westport for the past three years and is the team captain for Silver Hill Hospital. AFSP is dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. Anne’s mission is to educate the public about mental health and suicide prevention. Suicide prevention is key, and people need to be aware of the resources available to them. Anne is also the director of library services & coordinator for Continuing Medical Education at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan. She has more than 36 years of library experience working at the University of South Alabama’s University and Biomedical Libraries, New York Presbyterian Hospital/Westchester Campus, Sacred Heart University, and Silver Hill Hospital. Anne’s undergraduate degree from Sacred Heart University is in religious studies and psychology, and her master’s degree in library science is from The University of Alabama. She resides in Old Greenwich.
