On October 14, 2023, an annular solar eclipse will cross North, Central, and South America. While Connecticut is not in the direct path of the eclipse, we will be able to see a partial solar eclipse. To help you better understand this cosmic event, we have invited Dr. Emily Mason, Research Scientist, Predictive Science, Inc., to share her knowledge of solar eclipses on Thursday, October 12, at 7 pm. This will be a Zoom Program suitable for school-age children through adults. The Library will also have a very limited supply of special eclipse-viewing glasses for distribution prior to the October 14th event. You can pick up your glasses (2/family) at our Circulation Desk and at the Youth Services Desk, while supplies last. We hope to have a greater number of glasses available for distribution for the April 8, 2024 eclipse.
