Perrot Library Welcomes Our New Director!

The Perrot Memorial Library Association Board is excited to announce the addition of Trish Tomlinson to the Perrot Library staff, as their eleventh Library Director. Trish joined the Perrot team in February after the retirement of Kevin McCarthy who served in the position for 27 years. “We’re thrilled to have Trish as our new Library Director,” said
Board President Kathy McCormack. “Within weeks she has already put her extensive experience as a Library Director to work. Her leadership will help continue to grow Perrot Library’s services and programs and help us meet the ever-evolving needs of our patrons.”

Open Knitting

Welcome all knitters. If you’re looking for a place to knit alongside other knitters, please join us at 10 am on Thursday, May 29th. We’ll meet in the Watt Room (our DVD room) for an hour of knitting and conversation. Registration is not required. This is a drop-in program.

The Nurse Is In: Free Blood Pressure Screening

On the first Monday of each month, a nurse from Greenwich Hospital will be here at Perrot Library from 10 to 11 am to take free blood pressure screenings. The screenings will take place in the Rand Room, Waid Building, not the Radcliffe Children’s Library. The next screenings are scheduled for Monday, June 2nd.

Perrot Walks!

Join us on Tuesday, June 3, at 10:00 am outside the front entrance of the Library for Perrot Walks. We will walk at a leisurely pace and enjoy conversation and the beauty of Binney Park. Please dress appropriately. All fitness levels are welcome.

LGBTQ+ 101: An Introduction to Identities & Allyship

Join us on Wednesday, June 4, at 7 pm in the Program Room, Radcliffe Building, Perrot Memorial Library, for “LGBTQ+ 101: An Introduction to Identities & Allyship,” with Cadence Pentheny, community education manager and leader of the LGBTQ+ Training Institute, Triangle Community Center (TCC), Norwalk, Conn. Please note: This is an adults-only program; participants must be 18 or older to attend.

Environmental Book Group Discussion: “The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World,” by Robin Wall Kimmerer

The June meeting of the Environmental Book Group, a collaboration between Perrot Memorial Library and the Conservation Commission, will take place on Monday, June 16, at 7 pm in the Program Room, Radcliffe Building, Perrot Memorial Library. Rebecca Poirier, environmental analyst, Town of Greenwich, will lead a discussion of The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World, by Robin Wall Kimmerer.

GPW Book Discussion: “Lonesome Dove,” by Larry McMurtry

Do you love Western fiction? If so, join us for a three-part book discussion of Larry McMurtry’s masterpiece, Lonesome Dove, beginning on Wednesday, June 18, at 7 pm in the Program Room, Radcliffe Building, Perrot Memorial Library. Doris Mady of Greenwich Pen Women (GPW) will discuss the book with GPW President Adrienne Reedy. Because the book is long, we will organize the discussion into three parts to match the three parts of the book. Part 2 will take place on Monday, September 15, at 7 pm, and Part 3 will be held on Wednesday, December 10, at 7 pm.
