Percival Everett’s “James” and Mark Twain’s “Jim”: Reimagining and Subverting Mark Twain’s Masterpiece

We are pleased to welcome Elizabeth A. Petrino, professor of English and director of Liberal Studies, Bellarmine College at Fairfield University, Fairfield, Conn., on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 7 pm, for “Percival Everett’s James and Mark Twain’s ‘Jim’: Reimagining and Subverting Mark Twain’s Masterpiece.” The program will take place in the Program Room, Radcliffe Building, Perrot Memorial Library.

Open Knitting

Welcome all knitters. If you’re looking for a place to knit alongside other knitters, please join us at 10 am on Thursday, February 27th. We’ll meet in the Watt Room (our DVD room) for an hour of knitting and conversation. Registration is not required. This is a drop-in program.

The Nurse Is In: Free Blood Pressure Screening

On the first Monday of each month, a nurse from Greenwich Hospital will be here at Perrot Library from 10 to 11 am to take free blood pressure screenings. The screenings will take place in the Rand Room, Waid Building, not the Radcliffe Children’s Library. The next screenings are scheduled for Monday, March 3rd.

A Zoom Book Talk: “Expect Great Things!” by Vanda Krefft

We are pleased to welcome Vanda Krefft, author of “Expect Great Things! How the Katharine Gibbs School Revolutionized the American Workplace for Women,” in recognition of Women’s History Month, on Monday, March 24, at 7 pm via Zoom. Karen Heffner of Greenwich Pen Women will interview Ms. Krefft. The interview will be followed by a Q&A session.

Tree Doctors

Join us for a panel discussion where experts are available to answer your questions about tree landscaping design, planting, care, and maintenance. This event is available in person and over Zoom. The in-person event will be held in the Program Room, Radcliffe Building, Perrot Memorial Library, from 7 to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, March 26.
