Program Descriptions
BABY STORYTIME
Fall 2025 Offerings:
* Wednesdays at 11:30 AM, 8/27 through 11/19
For Ages: 0 to 15 months. Children attend with an adult caregiver.
Registration: DROP-IN, Limited to the first 25 children and their caregivers to arrive.
Duration: 30 minutes
Description: Join Miss Jen for stories and songs for babies, followed by 30 minutes of open playtime. [Please note: More drop-in storytimes will be added for October and November. Check our website or social media for updates.]
TODDLER STORYTIME- DROP-IN
Fall 2025 Offerings:
* Tuesdays at 10 AM and 10:45 AM with Miss Jen on 9/2, 9/9, 9/16, and 9/30
For Ages: 15 months-48 months. Children attend with an adult caregiver.
Registration: DROP-IN, Limited to the first 20 children and their caregivers to arrive. 10 and 10:45 AM programs repeat.
Duration: 30 minutes

For Ages: 18 months-48 months. Children attend with an adult caregiver.
Registration: Registration required– limited to the first 10 children to sign up. Registration opens via our event calendar at 6 PM the day before each program. 10 and 11 AM programs repeat.
Duration: 30 minutes
Description: Enjoy stories and hands-on activities with Miss Tori, a pediatric occupational therapist.
PRE-K STORYTIME
Fall 2025 Offerings:
* Every other Thursday at 2:15 PM on 9/11, 9/25, 10/9, 10/23, 11/6, and 11/20
For Ages: 4- and 5-year-olds. Children attend with an adult caregiver.
Registration: Registration required– Limited to the first 15 children to sign up. Registration opens via our event calendar 1 week before each program.
Duration: 30 minutes
Description: Join Miss Tori for a lively program of stories, movement, songs, and hands-on play!
SING WITH ME
Summer 2025 Offerings:
* Thursdays at 4:15 PM on 7/31 and 8/28
Fall 2025 Offerings:
* Thursdays at 4:15 PM on 9/11, 9/25, 10/9, 10/23, and 11/20
For Ages: Families with children of all ages. Children attend with an adult caregiver
Registration: Registration opens at 6 PM on the Monday prior to each program. There is a limit of 4 tickets per family (each adult and child attending must be registered). Maximum of 60 attendees.
Duration: 30 minutes
Description: An energetic family sing-along program with live music, featuring music teacher and guitarist Mr. Jim.
READ TO A DOG
Fall 2025 Offerings:
* Thursdays at 3:45 PM on 9/18, 10/16, and 11/13
For Ages: All ages. (Younger children should have their adult nearby)
Registration: DROP-IN. No pre-registration required, but you may need to wait your turn until a dog is available. Please arrive between 3:45 and 4:30.
Duration: 1 hour
Description: Build your confidence by reading out loud to a friendly dog. All dogs are trained therapy dogs and great listeners! Participants may pick whatever they would like to read for the program, although library staff are always available for suggestions.
DEBATE CLUB
Fall 2025 Offerings:
* Tuesdays at 4 PM, 9/19-11/18. No programs on 9/23, 11/4, and 11/11.
For Ages: 9-12
Registration: Registration strongly encouraged- sign up online via our event calendar
Duration: 1 hour
Description: Flex your critical thinking skills by participating in debates about fun topics. Winners will receive prizes, and all participants will have first dibs on future debate topics!
CRAFTING CONNECTIONS
Fall 2025 Offerings:
* Wednesdays at 4 PM on 9/17, 10/1, 10/29, and 11/12
For Ages: 9-12. Kids age 5-8 may also attend, but must be accompanied by an adult helper.
Registration: Registration strongly encouraged. Sign up online via our event calendar. Please note– you must register separately for each date
Duration: 1 hour
Description: Give back to the community by hand-making items to donate to charitable organizations. We will sign off on volunteer time for you if needed! On 9/17, we’ll be making Halloween cards for hospitalized kids using an array of materials. On 10/1, we’ll be making Halloween- and fall-themed tray favors for those that receive deliveries from Meals on Wheels. On 10/29, color a picture to send to seniors, troops, or anyone else who needs a smile through the Color A Smile organization. On 11/12, we’ll be making snazzy dog adoption bandanas for Pet Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) of Norwalk.
CREATIVE VENTURES
Fall 2025 Offerings:
* Fridays at 4 PM on 9/26, 10/24, 11/7, and 11/14
For Ages: 7-13
Registration: Registration strongly encouraged. Sign up online via our event calendar. Please note– you must register separately for each date
Duration: 1 hour
Description: Stretch your artistic imagination using an array of mediums, skills, and techniques, to make art, functional items, decor, and DIY projects. On 9/26, we will learn how to create images with beads and safety pins. Impress your friends with your artistic skills by displaying your pins on your backpack or clothes. On 10/24, we will learn how to create potions using a little bit of science and a lot of creativity. On 11/7, we learn how to use simple wire to create a tiny planter. You’ll get to take home a tiny plant of your own. On 11/14, we will learn how to make eye catching bracelets using only two materials.
GAME HUB
Fall 2025 Offerings:
* Fridays at 4 PM on 9/12, 10/3, and 11/21
For Ages: 7-13
Registration: Registration strongly encouraged. Sign up online via our event calendar. Please note– you must register separately for each date
Duration: 1 hour
Description: Enjoy a growing selection of games at the library. From classic games to modern ones, to team challenges and everything in between, get ready to bring your A-Game! Attendees may bring their own board games from home as well. On 9/12, we’ll have normal gameplay, plus– complete the Gotta Catch ‘Em All Challenge to win a prize! On 10/3, we’ll have normal gameplay, plus– complete Social Bingo to win a prize! On 11/21, we’ll have normal gameplay, plus– enter our Trivia Raffle for the chance to win a prize!
ESCAPE ROOMS
Fall 2025 Offerings:
* Friday, October 17th at 4 PM
For Ages: 8-13
Registration: Registration REQUIRED. Sign up online via our event calendar. Please note– you must register separately for each date. PLEASE ARRIVE PROMPTLY- LATECOMERS WILL NOT BE ADMITTED.
Duration: 1 hour
Description: Put your minds to the test! Follow clues, solve puzzles, and escape; it’s the only way out (not really!). Solve the room and win a prize! On 10/17, we’re on the brink of the zombie apocalypse! But it’s only just the beginning; there’s still time to stop it only if YOU can find the cure. Solve the room, cure the zombies, save the world!
YOUNG CRITICS’ CLUB (YCC)
Summer 2025 Meeting Dates:

Fall 2025 Meeting Dates:

For Ages: Kids in Grades 6, 7, and 8
Registration: BY SPECIAL APPLICATION ONLY. The club is now FULL for the 2025-2026 school year. Watch for applications for the 2026-2027 school year in May 2026.
Duration: 75 minutes
Description: At each meeting, Young Critics get to know each other better with a book-themed game, then grab a snack and discuss their recent reads. Ms. Jen and Mrs. Woodward booktalk a new book and share their new finds with the group. - Children must be the correct age for the program they are being registered for. Please check carefully!
- For registered Toddler Storytime, registration will open at 6 PM the day before each program
- For Sensory Storytime, registration will open at 6 PM the day before each program
- For Pre-K Storytime, registration will open the Thursday before each program (1 week before)
- For Sing With Me, registration opens at 6 PM on the Monday before each program. Tickets are limited to 4 per family. You must reserve a ticket for each attendee (both adults and children)
