Yoga @ the Library
Join Laura DeLongis Barnes for a stimulating yoga class on Saturday morning, December 21st, from 9:30-10:30 am in the Program Room, Radcliffe Building, Perrot Memorial Library. Participants should dress appropriately, bring their own yoga mat, and keep their footwear inside the Program Room during the class. Class size is limited to 15; there is a waiting list. NOTE: This is the last scheduled yoga class. The Library’s Board is reviewing our adult programs. We hope to offer more classes in 2025.
Here is Laura’s take on yoga:
I discovered my love for yoga after moving to NYC in 2016. It quickly became my go-to for stress relief and a way to challenge both mind and body. In 2020, I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training at Good Vibes Yoga Bar in Nutley, N.J., deepening my practice and taking the next step to become a certified instructor.
In my classes, I focus primarily on Vinyasa-style yoga, emphasizing the connection between movement and breath. I’m passionate about creating inclusive, engaging classes that cater to a range of student needs and skill levels, including those new to yoga. I emphasize thoughtful modifications and proper alignment, providing a supportive space where students at any level can explore their practice. Expect a class that flows with upbeat music, helping you find both energy and mindfulness in class. Whether you’re seeking a gentle flow or a more challenging sequence, my classes are adaptable to meet your needs, allowing you to build both strength and awareness at your own pace.
My goal is to help you cultivate mindfulness and physical awareness, wherever you are in your yoga journey.
