Children’s Holiday Concert with Barbara Occhino

Join vocalist Barbara Occhino, accompanied by guitarist Carmine Marino, for a fun, bilingual holiday concert for children and families! Sing along with Barbara in English and Spanish to holiday classics, including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Dreidel Song, Winter Wonderland, Twinkle Twinkle Hanukkah Lights, Jingle Bell Rock, Feliz Navidad, and more!

Barbara Espinosa Occhino is a multilingual vocalist (English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese) who sings jazz, blues, pop, and Latin classics in the Metro New York area. Her performances for children and families include playing the “Pigeon” for The Orchestra Lumos Luminous Storytelling program, shows with the Project Music student musicians, music programs for the North Mianus Elementary School, and concerts at the Greenwich Annual Holiday Stroll, Stamford Artwalk, Sunday Music in Latham Park, Friday Music at Heritage Park, Make Music Day Stamford, among others. Barbara has performed at Stamford’s The Palace, Harbor Point, Mayor’s Afternoon of Jazz, the Mill River Collaborative, corporate events, country clubs, galleries, and private affairs. She was a member of Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival 50th Anniversary “the public domain” choir and sang the National Anthem at the 12th Annual Health Wellness & Lifestyle Expo in Stamford, CT. She has been a session vocalist and bilingual voice-over talent in NY/CT recording studios. Barbara served as a music and entertainment curator for the Experience Greenwich Week, Stamford Mayor’s Afternoon of Jazz, corporate events, and festivals. Carmine Marino is a dynamic, improvisational guitarist with a sophisticated harmonic sense, covering jazz standards, Latin/Brazilian, blues, pop, and classical music. A multi-instrumentalist (bass and Hammond organ), he earned degrees in Music Education and Applied Guitar from the Hartt College of Music and teaches children/adults privately. Carmine has performed at The Waldorf, The Bushnell Center for Performing Arts, The Palace, U.S. and Canadian Playboy Clubs, Dolce Palisades Conference Center, Catskills Concord Resort Hotel, The Berkshires, golf clubs, corporate events, and notable Manhattan music clubs. He served as musical director for The Landmark Club and as co-leader for The Franklyn Circle Band. Carmine has played with master jazz trumpeter Clark Terry, drummer Ed Shaughnessy (Doc Severinsen and The Tonight Show Band), saxophonist/composer Bobby Watson, record producer/saxophonist Houston Person, pianist Anthony Marinelli, guitarist Sal Salvador. He has accompanied vocalists like Marion Cowings (New York Philharmonic), Melba Joyce (Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis), Maydie Miles, among others.
