Author Visit with J.R. Potter

Join children’s author and illustrator J.R. Potter for a theatrical reading from one of his books, followed by a discussion about how to write and illustrate stories about fearless heroes and monsters that leap off the pages!
J.R. Potter is the award-winning author and illustrator of the Thomas Creeper mystery series and the 2019 recipient of the Kraken Prize for Middle Grade Fiction. Hailed by Booklist as “marvelously macabre,” the Thomas Creeper series combines horror, humor, and heart in a captivating recipe that recalls the best of Lemony Snicket and the world-building wonders of Neil Gaiman. Potter’s graphic novel work for teens has been published by Image Comics, and his short fiction has appeared in The Portland Review and various horror and science fiction anthologies.
