Perrot's 2017 summer reading program will run from Wednesday, July 21st, through Friday, July 28th. This year's summer reading theme is "Build a Better World." Stop by our Summer Reading table by the computers in the Children's Wing any time the library is open. Our friendly teen volunteers will sign you up, tell you the rules and start a reading record for you. You'll also get to put your name up on our bulletin board. We'll keep your reading record here in the library. When you've read a book, tell a volunteer next time you're in the library and they'll write it in your reading record. You get a prize after you have read your first, third, and fifth books! At the conclusion of the program, you may take your reading record home with you.
Parents, you can also pick up a reading record for your littlest ones. We have special sheets to keep track of books you've read aloud with your child. Children get a sticker for each book they've read with a grown-up.
Each week in July, you will have to guess how many candies are in the jar at our Circulation Desk. Whoever gets closest to the right number wins the jar of candy (plus a few bonus books)! (If more than one person guesses the correct number, we will randomly draw the winner from among the correct answers.)
Check back to see our winners each week!
After you have completed your training, you may sign up for volunteer hours beginning on Monday, June 12th. You can sign up for no more than 2 hours in a row or 6 hours in a week (for the first week, you can only sign up for 4 hours). You will be able to sign up for hours 1 week in advance. Sign up by stopping by the library in person or by calling us at 203-637-8802. Have more questions? Email Mrs. Jarombek at email@example.com.
